Megan graduated from Athletic Therapy at Sheridan in June 2011. She was born and raised in Ottawa, where in high school she was very active in all sports, especially volleyball. Prior to going to school for Athletic Therapy, she worked at Nepean Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy from 2003-2008 as a Physio Assistant.
At Sheridan College she played competitive volleyball while successfully completing her education. She completed over 1600 placement hours at Seneca College, Toronto Athletic Club, and Applecreek Medical Centre. She specialized in injuries and concussions sustained in contact sports like Rugby, Football and Cheerleading. After graduation, she worked at Keller Active Health with private clients and Kinemedics, the orthopedic supplies store in Ottawa. She continued to work various field events for elementary schools, high schools as well Algonquin College Volleyball. Alongside athletes, she also worked with elderly patients with Dementia and Alzehimers part time for 2 years in the Ottawa area creating exercise classes and fall prevention classes.
In 2011 She went to New Zealand for Rugby World Cup and caught the travel bug. In 2013, she moved to Edinburgh, Scotland and worked with Stewarts Melville RFC and West End Therapies for 2 exciting years. Upon returning in 2015, she has been working primarily with the University of Ottawa Football team. Currently, she is involved with the Ontario Athletic Therapy Association helping the Athletic Therapy profession grow. "I want to teach people about all the tools health professionals have to assist the public. Coming to Integrate is a dream come true as I get to assist the community I grew up in. Health care works and everyone should know how to take care of themselves. Integrate has the team to help you achieve your goals."
Megan can help you figure out which health professional will work for you, how to use your insurance properly and knows how to get you out of pain, moving safely! In her free time she enjoys kayaking, camping, outdoors, volleyball and travelling to new places!
