Francisca Avila Ramirez

Francisca is a Registered Physiotherapist and a member of the Women’s Health division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). She holds a Master of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy from the University of Ottawa, and a Bachelor of Sciences in Human Kinetics from the University of Québec at Montreal. Francisca is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
Francisca has a special interest in treating female urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor related conditions. She provides treatment in a safe and caring environment through a collaborative and tailored approach. Francisca has been a part-time professor and teaching assistant at the University of Ottawa, in physiotherapy and human kinetics. She has also been a research assistant at the Élisabeth Bruyère Research Institute.

Experiences: Francisca has worked in various settings in both, the public and private sector. Through her experience as a clinician and in academia, she has treated a variety of patients with diverse conditions ranging from musculoskeletal to neurological problems. Currently, she is interested in treating pelvic floor related conditions, particularly those associated to incontinence.
Interests: Traveling, yoga, enjoying the outdoors with her family and friends.
