Clinical Nutrition

Clinical nutrition is scientifically based nutrition care. Our naturopath uses his extensive knowledge of nutrition to provide advice for individuals with specific dietary requirements (due to chronic health conditions, personal or religious dietary choices, competitive athletes, or an active lifestyle), as well as for individuals looking to improve their overall health.

Clinical nutrition plays an essential role in the treatment/management of most                                                                 health conditions including:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Arthritis

  • Cardiovascular disease

  • Crohn’s disease

  • Diabetes

  • Food allergies or intolerances

  • Heart burn

  • High cholesterol

  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)

  • Irritable bowel syndrome

  • Migraines and headaches

  • Osteoporosis

  • Repetitive strain injuries

  • Ulcerative colitis

  • Weight loss and obesity

During your appointment, we will review your overall health and nutritional status, as well as dietary goals. Based on this assessment, a simple, easy to follow individualized nutrition plan is designed in order to meet your specific needs. The plan may include:

  • Education on the benefits of food choices and healthy eating

  • Counselling on dietary modification

  • A personal diet plan, including full  meal plans with recipes

  • Specialized nutritional advice to meet personal (vegetarian, vegan, etc.) or religious (kosher, hallal, etc.) dietary choices

  • Specialized nutritional advice for competitive athletes or highly active individuals

Following appointments focus on helping you to incorporate the dietary changes into your lifestyle and to help you overcome any challenges in making a change.
