Dr Anita Pozgay, BSc, MD

Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician

Anita Pozgay has been practising medicine for 20 years as an emergency and sports & exercise doctor.   She graduated from McMaster where she did her MD and then went to the University of Alberta where she completed a residency in Emergency Medicine and a Fellowship in Sports Medicine. 

She can provide injection therapy such as hyaluronic acid (HA) and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) if indicated after her thorough assessment.  She also offers trigger point therapies.

 

Anita is a strong believer in the Exercise is Medicine approach to healthy living.   She enjoys outdoor adventures with her kids such as skiing, cycling, and swimming.  She also allows them to beat her at chess sometimes.

Credentials: MD Doctor of Medicine, Emergency Medicine Residency, Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician (Dip SEM), Diploma Tropical Medicine

Experiences: She has worked at various sports medicine venues and with university teams. She has also participated on the health care team of several sporting events: Athletics Worlds, Triathlon Nationals, FIFA Women’s Soccer, Para/Alpine Skiing, National Figure and Speed Skating events and others. She has also worked internationally as the Medical Lead on an Antarctic Expedition and in Tanzania for CACHA (Canada Africa Community Health Alliance).
